Hi Friends,

It is t -minus 14 days until we leave for our Disney Trip! More importantly, Case’s first Disney trip ever! We love Disney in this house and we haven’t been back since 2019 for our honeymoon. Michael and I planned to go back to Disney in April of 2020. We were crushed when the pandemic happened and we had to cancel along with the rest of the world. SO this trip has been a long time coming! And we cannot wait until we can breath in the smells of magic, delicious food and of course, the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride (if you know the smell you are a real MVP!)

Here is a little photo dump from our honeymoon in 2019!

Here are some items I purchased to make this trip a a magical one but more importantly how to travel with a toddler to Florida!

Case loves to walk, and has been wanting to be a big boy and not be in a stroller, so that makes visiting places a little difficult especially with trying to be protective and cautious of everyone around us because we do not want to take a chance. However, I see more and more families getting a wagon stroller! They have more room, the possibility to take a nap because kids can lay flat, unlike a traditional stroller. Plus they have plenty of leg room and can take their friends with them. If you have other kiddos you have more room and less strollers! If you are going to be flying, a traditional stroller we learned, is so bulky to take through, and it’s hard to fold up to give the airlines once you board the plane. This also breaks down into a small unit, easy for grabbing and handling.

What we bought for the trip

What we bought for the trip 〰️

Here is one we purchased that goes perfectly with theme of this Disney Trip

When we visited family in Oklahoma, we checked our carseat because Case flew on my lap. We didn’t buy a carseat cover traveling case and we regretted it. One, carseats are bulky and hard to carry. Second, the plastic it was wrapped in was ripped and destroyed and filthy! We got this one, we haven’t used it yet but I will keep you updated on how it pans out!

If you have long hair, like me, you cannot stand it in your face but you hate just pulling it up into a ponytail. I plan on treating myself to some new ears while we are there, but I got these adorable clips off Amazon that I have been wearing non-stop, even around the house! Case wants to steal them from me because it is his favorite guy! Mickey!

When we went on our honeymoon, we had couple’s shirts, that I planned once we booked our honeymoon. But it was just shirts and shorts. When I look back at the photos, I didn’t like how my outfit was plain. I am a T- Shirt girl, yes! There is nothing wrong with it, but I just felt like I could do better and feel more like a princess this time around.  I love to wear dresses. If you’re a mom, you know that, you will most likely be carrying your kids from time to time. Well, sometimes kids like pull on your clothes, pull up the dress, pull down your shirt, etc. They are not doing it to harm or embarrass us, as they are just trying to find comfort or help getting something or somewhere. But, it does get awkward when you are trying to be modest and keep all your belongings tucked away. So I wanted to wear dresses, but I got these off of  Amazon.

They are Athletic dresses but super cute! They have built in shorts, bra and sucks you in! Just what a momma needs!

I do have some Disney shirts that are couples and family themed that I plan to cut and design to go with the dresses. So we will still be very on theme for the theme parks!

Another mistake we made our first trip to Disney, we didn’t really know how to pack. We took one large suitcase and a small one. We checked them both. On our way back we were overweight and had to pay more to get them home. We did the same thing when we went to Oklahoma! ugh! I felt so unorganized. Clothes were just thrown in, no folding, nothing! So I bought us some packing cubes to try to be more organized and not overweight! Checked bags are already so expensive with airlines that I don’t want to have to pay anymore than I need to! And we will be packing Case’s clothes with us, so we need to be more organized. These were not that expensive and look to be great quality for what I paid for them.

Funny story, when we went on our honey moon we didn’t stay on the resort, we got gifted a timeshare condo as a gift to stay in for our trip, which was wonderful! However, if your husband is anything like mine, I should have double checked what he packed. Don’t get me wrong, he packed the right items. But not enough clothes! I had to do his laundry on our honey moon because he packed 2 pairs of shorts and 4 t-shirts….we were there for a week! It’s a running joke now, but yeah. Lesson learned, always double check your husbands clothes that he packed and make sure there is enough!

When we went to Oklahoma, We had a purse as my personal item, Case’s large diaper bag, and a tote bag that Michael carried. We has so many things that we didn’t even use! So, with all of our travels coming up, and with downsizing into a camper I bought a TSA approved backpack. We will only be taking this on the plane , and possibly my purse, but I think I will just pack all of our baby items, laptops, cameras, phones, wallets, etc with one backpack!

This one is one I looked at multiple times and chose the baby blue color because of Case and if Michael carries it too. Trying to support the boys in this household!

We will be flying a redeye there so this may not come in handy but that doesn’t mean that he will sleep! We are not a family that is technology based. Yes, I am using technology now for work but I want Case to play with toys and have a simple life outdoors. We got this Mess Free Touch Lights from Crayola to have him play with on the plane. I almost let him play with it when we got it but my mom told me to save it for the plane so its brand new to him! Such great advice!

I plan to bring our own snacks, and our own water bottles and Case’s items. We did end up going with a rental car so that we don’t have to pack a suitcase just with diapers, because Case goes through them like candy! Potty Training is going to start when we get back! haha That way if we need to get some milk, diapers, snacks for the hotel and if we decide to go to the beach!

I plan on doing an updated post about what worked, and what didn’t! This is just somethings I learned from our honey moon and a family trip, I am still a new mom and traveling with a baby is new to us. But as Walt Disney himself said, “we keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

Sending you a magical day,

Taylor
